Biographie

Kam Al-Baba (March 7, 1961 – February 19, 2023) was a Syrian poet, journalist, and screenwriter born in Hama, Syria. He studied journalism at the Media Training Institute in Damascus and later earned a degree in theater criticism and literature from the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts.

He had a long career in Syrian and Arab journalism before becoming a cultural editor for Al Arabiya in Dubai. As a television writer, his notable works included *Five-Star Family*, *Abu Al-Hana's Dreams*, *My Family and I*, and *Days of Mischief*. He also wrote and prepared the satirical program *On My Responsibility* for Syrian actor Duraid Lahham.

Al-Baba was also an accomplished poet and author who published several poetry collections and a book about his experiences in Syrian journalism. He was a prominent advocate for press freedom and an outspoken critic of the Syrian government. He died in Dubai in 2023 after an illness.
