Fritz G. Schadt
Biographie
Fritz G. Schadt was an Indonesian film director of Indonesian, German, and Dutch descent.
Born in Medan. Education: graduated from high school in Medan and continued to the Faculty of Law for two years. Since elementary school, he has been interested in drama, and his introduction to film was as an extra in the production of Kuala Deli (1955) and Sungai Ular (1961). Then as a supporting role in Penjebrangan (1963) when he moved to Java. From there, he was addicted, struggling in the world of film since as a script writer, make-up artist, assistant director, assistant unit assistant, and assistant editor until becoming a director, editor, and actor. Became general chairman of KFT (1984-1987), Member of the National Film Council (1985-1987), Member of the FFI Selection Committee 7 times between 1982 and 1992. Recipient of the 1996 Professional Loyalty Award from BP2N. His work Si Ronda Macan Betawi (1978) was a nominee for the scenario and editing at the 1979 FFI. He directed the TV series Keluarga Rahmat (1990).
